greenhouse gas - iepnj.comThe Independent Energy Producers of New Jersey (IEPNJ) is a not‐for‐profit trade association that represents the heart of New Jersey’s power industry ‐ the wholesale generators of electricity.

The organization has represented a unified voice for the industry for over twenty years since its founding in 1992.


Members include companies that provide electricity for on‐site use at New Jersey industrial and commercial facilities.

Membership also includes local and national corporations that sell electricity into the wholesale market for purchase by the state’s utilities, which, in turn, sell that power to New Jersey homes and businesses.

Since 1992, IEPNJ has played a pivotal role in shaping the laws and policies that affect New Jersey’s power industry through proactive participation in legislative hearings, regulatory proceedings, and in one-on-one meetings with state policymakers.

IEPNJ Meetings

At quarterly meetings, IEPNJ brings together members and key New Jersey and regional policymakers to debate some of the most challenging issues facing power producers in New Jersey.

IEPNJ also ensures that members receive timely alerts about issues and events that affect power producers in this State.

Energy Policy

Dramatic changes in the energy marketplace continue to focus unprecedented attention on New Jersey and national energy policy.

IEPNJ will continue to promote policies that encourage the responsible development of generation resources needed to meet New Jersey’s demand for power.
